Truth or Dare
The classic, modernised. Curated questions and dares written for real groups, with a Chill mode that works at a barbecue and a Savage mode that absolutely does not.
What you're doing
You take turns. On your turn, you pick Truth or Dare. The app draws a card from a curated pool (or a card written by another player, when player-written prompts are enabled) and shows it to you. You either do it, or you skip. That's the whole game. The trick is in the cards.
PartyRush includes hundreds of hand-written truths and dares. None are generated by AI. None are scraped from a pack you can buy elsewhere. They were written by one developer with friends, tested, rewritten, and added when they got the right reaction in a real room.
How to play
1. Choose your mode
Chill is family-friendly and works at any party. Savage is 18+ adult content — dating, relationships, drinking, regrets — and gates behind an "I confirm I'm comfortable with this" screen.
2. Take turns
The app picks a turn order at the start. On your turn, tap Truth or Dare. A card flips up. You do it (or skip it). The next player goes. Repeat for as many turns as you have time for.
3. Multi Device twist
In Multi Device mode, the current player's phone shows them the prompt up close. Everyone else's phone shows them the same prompt — so the room sees the dare, can confirm you actually did it, and judges you for skipping.
Scoring (Tournament mode)
If you play Truth or Dare on its own, there's no scoring. It's a casual game by design. In Tournament Mode, each completed turn (you actually did the truth or dare) is worth +1 point. Skipping costs nothing but earns nothing. After everyone's had two turns each, the tournament moves to the next game.
Hosting tips
- Set group consent at the start. Especially in Savage mode, agree as a group on the limit. A house rule like "no dares that ruin furniture" or "no truths about people not in the room" saves arguments later.
- Don't skip too much. One skip per person per game is a fair limit. The game falls flat if everyone skips everything.
- The funniest dare is the one nobody wants to do. Resist watering the prompts down. The pool already filters edgy from cruel — trust it.
- Play after one round of warmup. Truth or Dare with strangers is awkward. Open with a few rounds of Would You Rather first.
When to pick this
Truth or Dare is the default for any group that knows each other well. It scales from 2 to 12 players. Sessions can run 15 minutes (a few rounds) or hours (passing the phone forever). It's the lowest-effort game in PartyRush — no scoring, no rounds, no setup. Just tap and play.
