Privacy Policy

Plain English, no dark patterns. Last updated: June 2025.

The short version

PartyRush is a free, in-browser party-games app. It works without accounts, without sign-ups, and without collecting personal information from you. The only data the app itself collects is the temporary state needed to make multiplayer rooms work, plus anonymous analytics about page views. Ads are served by Google AdSense, which has its own privacy policy.

If you only read one section, read this one โ€” the rest is the legally complete version of the same thing.

What we do not collect

What stays in your browser only

Player names you type during single-device games are stored in your browser session memory and disappear when you close the tab. They are never sent to a server.

A small device identifier is stored in localStorage under the key partyrush:deviceId. This is a random string generated on first visit. It is used so that if you refresh the page during a multiplayer round, you rejoin the same player slot instead of becoming a new player. It is not linked to you personally and is never sent off the room you're in.

A privacy-acceptance flag is also stored under partyrush:privacy-accepted-v1 so we don't show you the privacy notice every time you open the app.

Multiplayer rooms (Firebase Realtime Database)

When you use Multi Device mode, the app uses Firebase Realtime Database (a Google service) to sync game state between players in a room. Here is exactly what gets sent:

Rooms are automatically deleted from Firebase 24 hours after their last activity. There is no permanent history of rooms you played in, the prompts you wrote, or the votes you cast. Firebase's own privacy practices apply on top of this โ€” see Firebase Privacy.

Ads (Google AdSense)

PartyRush is supported by ads served through Google AdSense. AdSense may set cookies on your device to serve personalized ads and to measure ad performance. These cookies are governed by Google's advertising policies. You can manage your personalized-ad preferences at Google Ads Settings at any time.

The ads shown to you are selected by Google's ad network, not by PartyRush. We don't see who you are or what ads you were shown.

In multiplayer mode, all devices in a room show their own ad at the same time, gated by a synchronization barrier so the round progresses together. Each device's ad is delivered independently by Google to that device.

Analytics

PartyRush uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to count anonymous visits and measure page load performance. These services do not set cookies and do not track you across other websites. They record things like page views, the country a visitor came from, browser and device type, and how fast pages loaded. None of this is tied to you personally.

Children

PartyRush is intended for general audiences. Savage Mode contains adult and explicit content (relationships, dating, drinking culture) and is gated behind an "I am comfortable with this" confirmation. The default Normal/Chill modes are family-friendly. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.

Your rights

Because PartyRush does not collect personal information, there is generally nothing on file for us to delete on request. If you would like the contents of your browser's localStorage cleared, you can do so in your browser settings โ€” for PartyRush it will only contain your random device ID and a privacy-accepted flag.

If you would like to opt out of personalized advertising, use Google Ads Settings. If you would like to delete Vercel Analytics data, contact Vercel directly.

If you have any concern about data or want clarification on anything in this policy, email partyrushapp@gmail.com and the developer (one human) will reply.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a substantive way, the "Last updated" date at the top will change and the privacy notice will reappear when you open the app, so you'll see it. Minor wording cleanups won't trigger that.
